| Directions to the Hickey's place: From Interstate 64: Go south on Route 15 (this is between Charlottesville and Richmond, also known as the Palmyra and Gordonville exit) through Fork Union across James River Bridge. At south side of bridge you will continue 1 1/2 miles south on Rt. 15 to State Route 652. Turn right and proceed 1 1/2 miles. Crossing a RR track and small concrete bridge (Slate River). Farm is 1st white farmhouse on the right. Mail box #47. From Leesburg area or Warrenton: Take Rt. 15 South through Fork Union. Cross James River, 1 1/2 miles past James River Bridge turn right on Rt. 652. Go 1 1/2 miles across RR tracks and small concrete bridge. Turn into driveway at 1st farmhouse on the right. From the South: Take Interstate 95 North to Richmond. Pick up Interstate 64 West at Richmond toward Charlottesville. Get off on Route 15 South (Palmyra) and go through Fork Union as described in above directions. From Farmville area: Take Route 15 North through Dillwyn. From Dillwyn you will proceed about 15 miles north to State Road 652. Turn left on 652, go 1 1/2 mile to white farmhouse on the right as described above. From DC Area: Take Interstate 95 south to Fredericksburg exit #130B for Culpepper and Orange, Route 3 West. Follow Rt. 3 to Rt. 20 south (about 12 1/2 miles). Turn left at Rt. 20 (there is a 7-11 store and a Sheetz gas/convenience store at this stoplight. Follow Rt. 20 to Orange, VA. Then turn left on Rt. 15 South. Continue on 15 south through Fork Union as described above. |
